The 2023 Roger Slack Award in Plant Biology was awarded to Associate Professor Paul Dijkwell from Massey University. Paul is interested in how plants stay alive and die. He has lead research leading to important discoveries on how plants use death to stay alive during stressful environmental conditions, identifying critical signalling pathways and basic metabolic processes that regulate death. Paul was presented with the award at the Plant Science Central conference held at Massey University on Thursday 6th July following a fantastic and thought-provoking presentation of his recent research. Congratulations to Paul on this excellent achievement.
